Understanding CPU Speed

1) 4GHz CPU is 2 time faster then 2GHz CPU.
2) 2GHz 2 Core is slower then 4GHz single Core. When computer can't run both Core, then it will run at 2GHz single Core. (Old software all run in Single Core Mode)
3) For same GHz CPU in general,

Core i7 > Phenom2 = Core2 > Phenom > Athlon > Pentium4
Above is Core type comparison, not marketing name comparison.
E.g.. 1) Celeron is not a Core Type. It can be a P3, P4 or Core2.
2) Athlon2 is not an Athlon. It is a Phenom2.


Capacity Size
1 Bit = Can be zer0 or 1 (Binary, Computer is about On(1) & Off(0))
8 Bit(b) = 1Byte (B) (Computer Smallest units = Single ASCII code = Single Character)
1000B = 1 KiloByte (KB)
1000KB = 1 Megabyte (MB)
1000MB = 1 Gigabyte (GB)
1000GB = 1 Terabyte (TB)
1000TB = 1 Petabyte (PB)
1000PB = 1 Exabyte (EB)
1000EB = 1 Zettabyte (ZB)
1000ZB = 1 Yottabyte (YB)
Note : Sorry dude, IEC have change our original 1024 units to KiB, MiB, GiB,TiB.

Capacity - RAM
RAM - is a temporary storage for computer calculation. Once power off, memory will be empty.
MS-DOS running smooth with 1MB of RAM. (Not Virtual-Mode)
Windows ver 3.1 running smooth with 4MB of RAM.
Windows 95 (v4) running smooth with 8MB of RAM.
Windows 98 (v4) running smooth with 128MB of RAM.
Windows XP (v5) running smooth with 1GB of RAM. (Antivirus became memory sucker)
Windows Vista (v6) running smooth with 2GB of RAM.
Windows 7 (v7) running smooth with 2GB of RAM.

Capacity - Harddisk
Harddisk - It is just the storage. Now a day, only Movies take a lot of storage.
Typical space taken:
RMVB - 200~400MB
AVI - 300MB~1.5GB
3GP - 1 ~ 10MB
MP3 - 3~5MB
DOC - 50KB
JPG - 20KB ~ 1MB (Open with [MS-Paint], and save it again will cut down in size.)
JPG save by Digital Cam - 1MB~10MB (Read above)
